Detach Printer
To detach a printer from a queue, click the printer in the list box, then click the Detach Printer button.

Hide:
If you do not want users to print directly on a printer, select the Hide checkbox.
Note: You can't hide a LaserWriter IIg that has version 1.0 Read-Only Memory (ROM).
Hold:
To temporarily disable an attached printer, select the Hold checkbox.
Protocol
You can choose AppleTalk or TCP/IP. After you enter the information about the printer, click the Attach Printer button.

AppleTalk:
To add a printer, select the printer.
TCP/IP:
To add a printer, enter the printer's DNS name or IP address. You can type a DNS name (for example, printer.company.com) if you've configured your system for TCP/IP and the DNS server on your network has been configured to recognize the IP addresses and domain names of your printers.
Type a name for this printer in the box labeled "Printer or Queue Name on server providing LPD".
